Monoprints are unique one-of-a-kind prints made with acrylic paint on rice paper, mulberry paper, deli paper, or heavy weight paper (really any type of paper). Many items can be printed (plants, stencils, objects, etc.). Recently, I’ve been loosely painting on the gelli plate and creating several layers for each monoprint. It’s a lot of fun, and I often turn to monoprinting when I just need to relax and have no specific end product in mind. They turn out quite lovely too! Additionally, I create handmade collage papers from monoprints which are incorporated into mixed media works of art.
